My Glow Routine Before Every Shoot

Updated: May 5

If your skin isn’t right, nothing else hits the same.

Makeup doesn’t sit right. Photos don’t look as clean. And you can tell when someone’s glow is real vs forced.

This is what I actually focus on to keep my skin clear, smooth, and camera-ready—especially before shoots.

1. Sea Moss (My Non-Negotiable)

I’m not even going to lie—this changed my skin.

Sea moss is packed with minerals your body actually needs, and you can see it in your skin over time.

  • smoother texture

  • more even tone

  • natural glow (not just highlight)

I keep it simple:

  • add it to smoothies

  • or take it consistently in small amounts

It’s not overnight, but when you stay consistent, it shows.

2. Simple, Natural Skincare > Overcomplicated Routines

I don’t believe in using 10 different products.

The more you overload your skin, the more unpredictable it becomes.

I stick to:

  • gentle cleansers

  • hydration

  • and ingredients that actually work (like aloe, turmeric, neem)

Your skin doesn’t need chaos—it needs consistency.

3. Your Lifestyle Shows on Your Face

This is the part people ignore.

You can have the best products in the world, but if your lifestyle is off, your skin will show it.

Things I actually pay attention to:

  • sleep (this makes a HUGE difference)

  • stress levels

  • how much water I’m drinking

If you’re tired and stressed, your skin will look tired and stressed.

4. Take Care of Your Skin From the Inside

This is where Ayurveda comes in—but I keep it simple.

You don’t need to overthink it.

  • eat clean, whole foods

  • add herbs like turmeric

  • keep your body balanced

Your skin is a reflection of what’s going on internally.

What I’ve Learned

Clear skin isn’t about doing the most—it’s about doing the right things consistently.

Once you find what works for you and stick to it, your skin will start to reflect that.

And when your skin is right, everything else feels easier.

XOXO,

Pretty In Pose
